Texas Chainsaw Massacre villain, Gunnar Hansen, dies aged 68

Gunnar Hansen, the actor who starred as Leatherface in the original 1974 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, died yesterday at the age of 68 after battling pancreatic cancer.

Hansen’s role as the original Leatherface “is one of the most iconic evil figures in the history of cinema,” his agent Mike Eisenstadt told the Associated Press.

2 years ago, Hansen published “Chain Saw Confidential,” a book chronicling his experience in making the beloved horror film. In addition, he was working on a movie titled ‘Death House’ up until his passing.

He is survived by his partner of 13 years, Betty Tower.
