The Batman delayed but Ben Affleck will direct
Ben Affleck has confirmed that he will direct his solo Batman film which looks set to be pushed back.
Last week Affleck told The Guardian when asked if he’ll direct the film:
“That’s the idea. But it’s not a set thing and there’s no script,”
Before adding: “If it doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great I’m not going to do it.”
However, the Argo actor told Jimmy Kimmel Live last night that he will definitely be at the helm:
“I’m going to direct the next Batman. We’re working on it.” he said.
Currently, The Batman is expected to begin filming in July 2018. But according to fan site Batman on Film, a source close to the movie says production is being pushed back by ‘a couple of months’.
The site states that “if this is indeed the case, it means that ‘The Batman’ won’t start filming until mid-Summer at the earliest,” so it may not get a release until 2019.
In the meantime, we can see Batfleck in Justice League on November 17.
