The first reactions are in for Sony’s film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. Earlier today, it was revealed that the film’s creative process was “plagued with problems and clashing visions”. Early screenings also reportedly tested poorly with audiences. While many critics are not very encouraged by the movie’s late press screenings:
Finally got a screening invite for The Dark Tower, scheduled about 24 hours before the first screenings. Probably not a good sign.

However, some early reactions have emerged online, and surprisingly they’re not too bad. “A great movie”,”exciting” and “well crafted,” all words that have been used to describe the film. Although they’re not all positive, with one person stating that reactions in the screening were “mixed”. See the Twitter reactions below:
I disagree. I saw an early screening too and thought that while the kid was F@#ing annoying and poor action scenes it had good things in it.

Also the ending. Ugh. But again there were things that I loved in it.

Holding back. It's a great movie. Some few changes from the original book. Have you read it?

Dark Tower is much as fans would expect. Exciting, action packed, well crafted, good SFX & creates a solid franchise for Sony. 25-30, 75-100

Was not a fan of the aesthetics/cinematography in The Dark Tower. Felt a bit too much like Underworld.

Other than that; Some decent action scenes, good performances. Solid story. Overall I enjoyed it.

Well, I liked it overall. Not a disaster. That being said I didn't think it was great. More like a 6/10.

The reactions in my screening were mixed, from what I could tell.

More reactions will come in over the next couple of days, and we’ll be sure to update the page when we get them. Our own review of the film will also arrive tomorrow night. The Dark Tower hits theaters on Friday.
