Ageing action-hero saga The Expendables is already set for at least two more sequels, but now FOX have signed a deal to bring the series to a television near you. Star Sylvester Stallone is to serve as an executive producer in what is being described as an “Event Series”. The format will be based around the original films, although it will see TV icons taking on the dangerous missions instead of movie stars. There has been no announcement on casting yet, but there is an almost endless stream of well-known faces who could fit the roles. Lionsgate, the studio behind the movies are also developing the show through their TV arm.
