Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 fights off new Rocky film at the box office

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 once again ruled the US box office this weekend, with $51.6 million, according to studio estimates. The Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the States saw a huge cinema turnout.

The final film in The Hunger Games series saw off competition from Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur and new Rocky spin-off Creed. The Good Dinosaur landed the second spot with $39.1 million for the weekend and Creed made $30.1 million.

In fourth place we find Spectre, which took in $12.8 million this weekend and The Peanuts Movie was fifth earning $9.7 million across the three days.
