The Incredibles 2 begins where the original ended
It’s been well over a decade since Brad Bird’s The Incredibles hit the silver screen, but time has seemingly stood still for our favorite superhero family.
John Lasseter informed IGN at D23 Expo 2017 that the long-awaited Incredibles sequel will pick up right where the original left us.
“It starts with the Underminer and a big-old set-piece,” Pixar’s chief creative officer stated.
“You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well that’s where we start this movie.”
Many of the previous Pixar sequels have had significant time jumps. Finding Dory took place a year after its predecessor while Toy Story 3 aged the characters nearly a decade. While The Incredibles 2 will start where the previous film left us, one can’t help but wonder if the film have some sort of time jump, revealing older versions of Dash, Violet, and Jack-Jack.
The Incredibles 2 hits theaters on June 15, 2018.
