The Incredibles 2 heading in ‘new direction’
Good news for fans of 2004’s The Incredibles as it’s been revealed that the sequel is moving forward.
Director Brad Bird told Entertainment Weekly that production on The Incredibles 2 is “actively moving.”
Plot details for the follow-up film are being kept under wraps but Bird revealed that they’re looking to take the sequel down a new path:
“We’re excited about it, [we’re] trying to take it in some new directions [with the] same characters and feel. I mean, that’s the trick with a sequel. It’s repeating yourself, without repeating yourself.”
Bird will take over writing and directing duties once again and he may also return to lend his voice as Edna Mode:
The Incredibles 2 will fly into theaters on June 21, 2019.
