From Cinderella, to The Jungle Book, to Beauty and the Beast, live-action remakes of Disney animated features are currently taking the world by storm. Likewise, we’ve also been getting a slew of live television musicals lately, including The Wiz, Grease, and the upcoming Dirty Dancing. Now both of these popular trends will be combined with The Little Mermaid Live!

According to Deadline, this adaptation of the 1989 classic will be part of the The Wonderful World of Disney, coming to ABC on October 3. The two-hour musical event mixes elements of live-action and animation with Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana) contributing new songs to accompany the original hits.

The Littler Mermaid was previously adapted to the stage in 2007. Previous reports suggested that Disney might reboot the 1989 animated feature as a live-action flick, but it appears the company ultimately settled on this TV special instead.
