The Rock Confirms He’s Playing Doc Savage

Back in March, director Shane Black announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will play the title character in Doc Savage. The wrestler turned actor has now officially confirmed that he will indeed be taking on the role.

The Rock made the announcement on Instagram. He went on to discuss to the history of Doc Savage. “First name Clark, called ‘Man of Bronze,’ retreats to his ‘Fortress of Solitude’ in the Arctic,” he posted. “Doc was physically and mentally trained from birth by his father and a team of scientists to become the perfect human specimen.”

The Rock is especially excited to play the Man of Bronze because “HE’S A F*CKING HILARIOUS WEIRDO!”

Along with Black, Doc Savage will be written by Antony Bagarozzi of The Nice Guys and Chuck Mondry of Jekyll. A release date has yet to be announced, however.
