Tom Cruise has announced the title for his upcoming Top Gun sequel.
The Mummy star revealed to Access Hollywood that the long-awaited follow-up film will go by the name of….
Top Gun: Maverick
Not the most inspiring title but it won’t affect the film! Cruise played Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in the 1986 original and gave more details about the upcoming sequel in the interview with AH:
“[“Top Gun 2″]… You don’t want a number. It’s going to be a competition film, like the first one. There’s going to be aircraft carriers, there’s going to be jets.”
Top Gun: Maverick will be released more than 30 years after the original. A director and release date are yet to be announced.
