Tom Hiddleston doesn’t think he’s been chosen as the next 007

Since Daniel Craig reportedly turned down the role of James Bond in the next film, the world has gone crazy with speculation over who’s going to take up the mantle of the world’s favourite spy. Speaking at Wizard World in Philadelphia (via ComicBook.com), Tom Hiddleston – considered to be the lead favourite – shared his thoughts on his own chances of playing 007.

‘I’m sorry to disappoint you everybody. I don’t think that announcement is coming. But I’m very gratified to hear the enthusiasm. There’s not much that I can say that I haven’t already said, but I know… your guess is as good as mine to be honest.’

So, that’s kind of thrown out the supposedly sure thing of Hiddleston being the next Bond out the window. Susanne Bier is apparently also in talks to be the first female director in the Bond franchise; we say, how about a female Bond, too? (Gillian Anderson would look superb in the part.) Then again, not seeing the extremely debonair Hiddleston as the also extremely debonair Bond is also a loss to the world.
