Tom Holland will play Nathan Drake in the feature film adaptation of the Uncharted video games.
According to Deadline, the film will be a prequel set around the flashback sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception where a young Nathan Drake met Sully for the first time. Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman felt that Holland would be perfect for the role given his work in as the titular webslinger in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

An Uncharted movie has been struggling to get off the ground since 2009. At one point, Mark Wahlberg was even attached to play Nathan Drake. Now that everyone’s favorite thief’s journey has come to an end in the video game realm, now seems like a good time for a film franchise to move forward, especially with Shawn Levy of Stranger Things directing. Will there be a crossover with Alicia Vikander’s Lara Croft, though?
