Tom Holland to join Daisy Ridley for Chaos Walking
In some exciting casting news, Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) is in talks to join Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley in the upcoming adaptation of young-adult novel Chaos Walking. The series, written by Patrick Ness (A Monster Calls), is formed of three books (via Variety).
Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) is set to direct the film but as of yet, the project is still to receive an official greenlight. Indeed, Liman, Holland and Ridley having very busy schedules right now so it may be a little while until the first film.
The books take place “in a world where all women have been killed by a germ and all living creatures can hear one another’s thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds simply called “noise.”” Charlie Kaufman (Anomalisa) and Jamie Linden (Dear John) have recently written drafts of the script.
Holland returns as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in next summer’s Spider-Man: Homecoming after his debut in Captain America: Civil War. Ridley, meanwhile, will soon be shooting Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express remake as well as reprising her role as Rey in Star Wars: Episode VIII.
