Universal Studios has picked up the Aaron Sorkin-penned Steve Jobs biopic after Sony, who were having difficulties securing a star to play the role of Jobs himself, dropped the picture last week. A studio spokesperson confirmed the deal to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday.

Danny Boyle will stay on as director with Michael Fassbender attached to star. Seth Rogen will likely portray Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and Jessica Chastain will potentially be taking on the role of Steve Jobs’ daughter, Lisa, who Sorkin recently described as ‘the heroine of the movie’.

The film, which had been in development at Sony Pictures for the past two years, is based on Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography Steve Jobs.
