Warner Bros. launching Oscar campaign for Wonder Woman

Warner Bros. is reportedly planning to launch a campaign to get Wonder Woman recognized at the Oscars. According to Variety, the studio have “internally discussed launching a formidable awards-season campaign for the movie, in the hopes of making it the first comic-book film nominated for best picture.”

Warner Bros. will also reportedly push a Best Director nomination for Patty Jenkins. Wonder Woman has been a huge success, becoming the DCEU’s highest-grossing movie domestically, and this summer’s highest-grossing movie in the US.

Variety also reports that the studio will be bringing out the guns for Dunkirk and its director Christopher Nolan.

Dunkirk is currently in theaters, while Wonder Woman 2 has just been confirmed with a release date set for Dec. 13, 2019.
