Warning: The Following Contains Spoilers

After being put on permanent hold, Man of Steel 2 is reportedly back in development.

According to TheWrap, “DC has been silent on a sequel to Man of Steel featuring Superman solo, leading many frustrated fanboys to believe that another film wasn’t going to happen. But a person close to the project told TheWrap that Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is of tantamount importance.”

DC currently has two unnamed films planned for October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. It’s possible that a solo Superman movie could be one of them.

Audiences weren’t pleased when the Man of Steel supposedly died at the end of Batman v Superman. This isn’t because we formed a strong connection to Henry Cavill’s Superman, but because Warner Bros. killed him after only two movies. Many felt WB played the Death of Superman card way too early, especially since Cavill is currently filming Justice League. Man of Steel 2 basically confirms what we already knew: Superman is alive and he’s never going to stay dead in this cinematic universe, removing any suspense.
