Wolverine 3: Hugh Jackman says script is “super close” to completion

Hugh Jackman has confirmed that the script for Wolverine 3 is near completion.

In an interview with Collider, the long-time Wolverine actor said the sequel’s script was “super close” to being finished and jokingly pointed out his trademark facial hair as a source of authenticity. “It’s not finished, but we’re getting super close–as you can see by the rate of my facial hair. That might give you a good clue to that perhaps. Yeah, it’s sooner rather than later,” he said.

Although the script looks to be in its final form, Jackman couldn’t comment on when production for the film would begin. It’s his farewell to the beloved mutant, so Jackman clearly wants to make the best standalone Wolverine movie possible.

“My thing and I’ve told you and I’ve told everyone, it’s my last one, for me I want it to be perfect, so the moment I know it’s perfect, bang, we’ll go.”

Wolverine 3 is scheduled for a 2017 release, and will be directed by James Mangold.
