Woody Harrelson to board ‘The Glass Castle’ with Brie Larson
Do you remember Short Term 12 from a couple years back? No? Then right a disastrous wrong and track it down; it’s one of the best independent dramas in recent memory, and well worth your time. What it’s most notable for is a tremendous performance from Brie Larson (The Gambler, Trainwreck) which, of course, failed to get an Oscar nod – but she’s back with Short Term 12 director Destin Daniel Cretton for his next feature, The Glass Castle. The two of them teaming up again is enough to make this a must-see picture – but now we can add another reason to that list, for Woody Harrelson is in talks to join the cast.
According to Deadline, neither Larson or Harrelson have actually confirmed their appearance. But with the kind of movie this is going to be – based on a memoir by Jeannette Walls about her rather dysfunctional family – it would be too good an opportunity for either to pass up.
Harrelson, with The Hunger Games franchise now drawing to a close, could do with a return to more standard drama after all that huge tentpole action; for Larson, who is making waves with her performance in Room, it would be a natural next step.
