Zombieland was a big hit with audiences and critics back in 2009, so much so that a TV show was planned. Sadly, Amazon’s pilot, which featured a cast that replaced the film’s original line-up of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone, received hugely negative feedback (writer and producer Rhett Reese claimed it was ‘hated out of existence’) and was never picked up to series. But now, a new writer for a film sequel has just been announced: Dave Callaham, who has worked on both The Expendables and Doom. Sony Pictures have hired him to help write Zombieland 2, with the original movie’s director Ruben Fleischer set to return.
